Ben Affleck Talks Joss Whedon’s Involvement in ‘JUSTICE LEAGUE’

August 12, 2017

Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Following Joe Morton aka Dr. Silas Stone (father/creator of Victor aka Cyborg) in JUSTICE LEAGUE, now star Ben Affleck spoke with EW and spoke more into detail regarding Joss Whedon’s involvement following director Zack Snyder’s departure after a family tragedy.

“It’s a little unorthodox. Zack had a family tragedy, and stepped off, which was horrible. For the movie, the best person we could’ve possibly found was Joss. We got really lucky that he stepped in. It’s an interesting product of two directors, both with kind of unique visions, both with really strong takes. I’ve never had that experience before making a movie. I have to say, I really love working with Zack, and I really love the stuff we’ve done with Joss.”

Affleck also clarified that just because reshoots are being made, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a bad thing.

“I’ve never done on a movie that didn’t do reshoots. ARGO, we did reshoots for a week and a half! Four days on GONE BABY GONE! This is a really nice time to work in DC. They’re hitting their stride. They’re getting it right. It’s starting to feel like it’s really working.”

Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, Billy Crudup, Amber Heard, Kiersey Clemons, J.K Simmons and Amy Adams.

Fueled by the hero’s restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Justice League sees Bruce Wayne enlist the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Once again directed by Zack Snyder from a script by Chris Terrio, from a story by Snyder and Terrio. Joss Whedon is set to direct additional re-shoot footage for the film in order to complete post-production following a family tragedy that happened with the Snyder.

Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns produce. Jim Rowe, Wesley Coller, Curt Kanemoto, Terrio and Affleck executive produce.

Justice League hits theaters on November 10.
