One thing about Christopher Nolan is that he has a secrecy when it comes to his new films and also collaborating with actors that have worked on all of his past six films, and one person in particular that you might have missed is Michael Caine’s cameo in Dunkirk.

Nolan spoke with NJ and confirmed that Caine plays a cameo voice, giving orders to the RAF pilots played by Tom Hardy and Jack Lowden.

“…Good for you for spotting him. It’s shocking to me that a lot of people haven’t, when he has really one of the most distinctive voices in cinema. I wanted very much to squeeze him in here. It’s a bit of a nod to his character in BATTLE OF BRITAIN. And also, it’s Michael. He has to be in all my films, after all.”

Well, after watching the film and at the end of the with the sound mix, I couldn’t distinguish it. But I find that pretty sweet that Nolan continues to recruit the actor even if it’s something quite small.

Dunkirk is playing in theaters now.
