Laurence Fishburne and Michelle Pfeiffer Join ‘ANT-MAN AND THE WASP’

The Matrix Trilogy star Laurence Fishburne and Dangerous Minds star Michelle Pfeiffer have joined the cast of Marvel Studios highly anticipated sequel, ANT-MAN AND THE WASP.

Pfeiffer will play Janet Van Dyne, the wife of Michael Douglas’s Hank Pym and the original Wasp. Fishburne will play Dr. Bill Foster, who in the comics is an assistant to both Tony Stark and Hank Pym and who eventually takes on Pym’s Giant Man abilities and later is known as Goliath.

Both actors have strong comic book movie connections, Pfeiffer is famous for playing Selena Kyle/Catwoman in Tim Burton’s 1992 Batman Returns, with Fishburne playing Perry White in 2013’s Man of Steel and 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Pfeiffer will be seen next in Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, with Fishburne leading the thriller Imprisoned opposite Edward James Olmos, Esai Morales and John Heard, who passed away this weekend.

Production on Ant-Man and the Wasp is expected to begin in Atlanta, Georgia later this month. Starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Pym, Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, Michael Peña as Luis, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, T.I. as Dave, Randall Parks as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Jimmy Woo, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost and Walton Goggins.

Peyton Reed returns to direct from a script by Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari from a story by Adam McKay and Rudd.

Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters on July 6, 2018.
