Amazon has picked up their upcoming drama series HOMECOMING starring Julia Roberts, for two straight-to-series order.

The half-hour drama is from Universal Cable Productions and Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail, who is directing and executive producing. Based on Gimlet Media’s breakout fictional podcast of the same name that was released in November, the project has been quite popular from the start.

Anonymous Content, who also produces Esmail’s hit show Mr. Robot with UCP, will also produce.

Written by the podcast’s creator Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg and directed by Esmail, HOMECOMING is a psychological thriller that centers on a caseworker at a secret government facility (Roberts) and a soldier eager to rejoin civilian life.

Presented in a college of telephone calls, therapy sessions and overheard conversation, the Homecoming podcast featured a cast of voices by Catherine Keener, Oscar Isaac, David Schwimmer, Amy Sedaris and David Cross. Kenner voiced the caseworker, with Isaacs as the soldier.

The first season received critical praise and was named a finalist for the 2016 Peabody Awards. Season 2 premieres today, July 19.

Esmail’s series is produced through his production company Esmail Corp, as well as Mr. Robot executive producer Chad Hamilton of Anonymous Content, the podcas’s Horowitz and Bloomberg, Alicia Van Couvering, Chris Giliberti, Alex Blumberg and Matt Lieber of Gimlet Media. Roberts will also executive produce through her production company RedOm. Her partners Lisa Gillan and Marisa Gill will co-exeuctive produce.
