Shooter leading star Ryan Phillippe injured his leg on Sunday outside of work. While his USA drama series adaption is in production on its upcoming second season that premieres TONIGHT, July 18.

Phillippe tweeted about it.

While he’s currently at the hospital on the mend, production on the series from Paramount Television and Universal Cable Productions is going on scheduled as expected, but producers are sorting out options on how to proceed. The series is currently shooting its ninth episode of their 10-episode second season.

Paramount said the following in a statement:

“We are working with our partners at USA and UCP to adjust the production schedule, but first and foremost we are happy to hear that Ryan is doing well and recovering.”

It’s unclear whether the show will take a brief hiatus break in order to let Phillippe recover or whether he will continue to film around his injury. If the latter does happen, some scripts will need some tweaking.

Although Phillippe can’t be on set, he’s using his time to support the show’s second season. He announced on Twitter that he will be live-tweeting during the East Coast and West Coast airing. And in addition, he will do a Twitter Q&A with fans in the hours leading up to the premiere.
