Disney Teases ‘TOY STORY 4’ and ‘FROZEN 2’ Title at D23 Expo

Disney/Pixar’s studio head John Lasseter took the stage at Hall D23 as part of the D23 Expo to make some announcements about upcoming animated films.

FROZEN 2 will have a brand-new title and hits theaters in 2019, but for now they’re calling it a sequel. He also revealed that they’re considering the film’s title to be in the film’s native Norwegian, but upon those translation some suggestions turned into “Frozen To” or “Frozen Toe”.

Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, and produced by Peter Del Vecho, the film is slated for a November 27, 2019. Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, Idina Menzel and Jonathan Groff reprise their roles in an all-new story. Lasseter, Bell and Gad shared with fans a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the filmmakers’ recent research trip to Norway, Finland and Iceland.

And next Lasseter revealed that Josh Cooley would direct the upcoming TOY STORY 4, which Lassette was previously slated to co-direct. The pair also screened a behind-the-scenes look at a day in the director’s life at the Northern California studio. A video was revealed of the first recorded line of dialogue from the film with an actor who has been in all the Toy Story movies. Jonas Riviera produces. Toy Story 4 is slated for a June 21, 2019 release.
