The First Trailer For ‘BIRTH OF THE DRAGON’

July 13, 2017

BH Tilt has released the first trailer for their upcoming Bruce Lee story BIRTH OF THE DRAGON, which can be seen down below!

Directed by George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) and written by Christopher Wilkinson and Stephen J. Rivele, Birth of the Dragon tells the story behind the legendary 1960s fight between Shaoli Master Wong Jack Man and a young Bruce Lee.

Birth of a Dragon recreates the mid-1960s fight between Lee and Wong from the point of view of a young martial arts student whose allegiance became torn between both men. To this day, people still argue about who won the famous fight, but one thing is certain: after his battle with Wong, Bruce Lee reinvented himself and his style of kung fu.

A Groundswell Productions film, the film features Billy Magnussen as Steve McKee, Yu Xia as Wong Jack Man, Philip Ng as Lee and Jinging Qu as Magnussen’s love interest, Xiulan. The movie’s villain, a ruthless crime boss named Auntie Blossom is played by iconic Chinese artist, opinion leader and television host, Jin Xing. The film’s action sequences were designed by renowned martial arts choreographer Corey Yeun, a graduate of the Peking Opera School.

Financed by Kylin Films, Birth of the Dragon is produced by Michael London and his producing partner Janice Williams, alongside Wilkinson, Rivele and Kylin’s James H. Pang. Leo Shi Young, David Nicksay and Nolfi executive produce. Helen Y. Zhong, Jaeson Ma and Joel Viertel (who also edits the film) co-produce.
