‘STAR TREK: DISCOVERY’ Premiere Date Announced

CBS has officially announced that they’re highly anticipated series STAR TREK: DISCOVERY will premiere on Sunday, September 24. The first and second episodes will be available on the streaming service, CBS All Access that night as well. In addition, the new poster has been released and can be seen down below!

After the premiere night, all new episodes will be available on-demand weekly on Sundays exclusively for CBS All Access subscribers in the US. The 15-episode season will be released in two chapters. The first eight will run from Sunday, September 24 through Sunday, November 5. Then, it will resume with the second chapter in January 2018.

Starring Sonequa Martin-Green as First Officer Michael Burnham, Michelle Yeoh as Captain Philippa Georgiou, Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca, Doug Jones as science officer Sara, Anthony Rapp as fellow science officer Stamets, Terry Serpico as Starfleet admiral Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as chief medical officer Nambue, Sam Vartholomeos as junior Starfleet officer Connor, Mary Wiseman as Cadet Tilly, James Frain as Sarek, astrophysicist and father of Spock, Chris Obi as Klingon leader T’Kuvma, Mary Chieffo as L’Rell, a Klingon commander, Shazad Latin as Lieutenant Tyler, Rekha Sharma as Commander Landry, Kenneth Mitchell as Vol, Clare McConnell as Dennas, Damon Runyan as Ujilli, and Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd.

DISCOVERY will follow the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself. The series will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers.

A CBS Television Studios in association with Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout, Bryan Fuller’s Living Dead Guy Productions, and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller, Heather Kadin, Gretchen J. Berg & Aaron Harberts, Akiva Goldman, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth executive produce.

The series will be distributed by CBS Studios International on Netflix in 188 countries and in Canada on Bell Media’s Space channel and OTT service CraveTV.
