Mad Men star Jon Hamm has joined New Line comedy TAG. Hamm joins the previously announced Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress, Rashida Jones, and Annabelle Wallis.

Directed by Jeff Tomsic from a script by Mark Steilen and Rob McKittrick.

Tag is based on a true story of a group of friends who have been playing a hardcore game of tag for the last 30 years. The story was featured in a Wall Street Journal feature back in 2013. In “Tag Brothers”, there’s 10 class mates from Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane, WA. 23 years after school, they played the game, secretly entering each other’s homes and scheduling their vacations around the game.

Renner and Buresss will play part of the gang, with Hamm playing an overachiever, both in high school and in life, who is now a successful businessman.

Todd Garner, Steilen and Sean Robbins produce.

Hamm will be seen next in Baby Driver from writer/director Edgar Wright.
