Two French character posters has been released for Noomi Rapace’s upcoming sci-fi thriller SEVEN SISTERS, also releasing under the title What Happened to Monday?

Directed by Tommy Wirkola (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters), the film features Rapace playing seven twin sisters, who are named after the days of the week.

Set in a not-too-distance future, where overpopulation and famine have forced governments to undertake a drastic One-Child Policy, seven identical sisters (Rapace) live a hide-and-seek existence pursued by the Child Allocation Bureau. The Bureau, directed by the fierce Nicolette Cayman (Glenn Close), enforces a strict family-planning agenda that sisters outwit by taking turns assuming the identity of one person. Taught by their grandfather (Willem Dafoe) and named them after the days of the week, each can go outside once a week as their common identity, but are only free to be themselves in the prison of their own apartment. That is, until Monday does not come home.

Also starring Marwan Kenzari, Christian Rubeck and Paul Sverre Hagen.

Produced by Vendome Pictures and Raffaella Productions and fully financed by SND, the film is written by Kerry Williamson and Max Botkin.

Seven Sisters or What Happened to Monday? was acquired by Netflix.
