MODERN FAMILY’s Sarah Hyland to Guest Star on ‘SHADOWHUNTERS’

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland will guest star during Freeform’s series adaption SHADOWHUNTERS season 2B during this summer. Her character is being kept under wraps and her first episode date has not been announced yet either.

In the summer premiere, Shadowhunters and Downworlders are picking up the pieces after Valentine’s attack at the Institute. Downworlder numbers are down, and the different packs and clans debate on what they must do to survive. With Valentine in custody, the Institute is on high alert, but Jace carries the heaviest burden of all due to his part in igniting the Soul Sword and the search he is keeping from Clary. But Jace and the Shadowhunters don’t have much time to mourn, as a Greater Demon is loose in Manhattan.

Meanwhile, Izzy’s struggles on the road to recovery when she encounters Sebastian, a mysterious stranger, as Simon tries to understand his new Daylighter status.

An adaption of The Mortal Instruments books by author Cassandra Clare, the series stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.

The series is produced by Constantin Films and executive produced by Todd Slavkin, Darren Swimmer, McG, Michael Reiz, Matt Hastings, Mary Viola, Martin Moszkowicz and Robert Kulzer.

SHADOWHUNTERS premieres this summer on Monday, June 5 at 8PM ET/PT on Freeform and on the Freeform app.
