Weinstein Sets Release Date For ‘PADDINGTON 2’

The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films have announced that their sequel for Paddington will be released on January 12, 2018.

Directed by Paul King from a script he co-wrote with Simon Farnaby, Paddington 2 follows the story of the very polite and lovable bear Paddington who is happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, has become a popular member of the community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever heroes.

While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief.

Produced by David Heyman (Harry Potter films, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), the film stars Hugh Grant, Brendan Gleeson, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington.

Paddington is one of the classic characters of English children’s literature and was introduced in a series of books in 1958 from Michael Bond.
