Blake Lively is set to star and executive produce the upcoming adaption of THE HUSBAND’S SECRET.

Based on Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, the film will be produced by Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz, and Andrew Miano via their Depth of Field production banner alongside Lively.

Lively will play Cecilia Fitzpatrick, a busy wife, mother and chronic perfectionist who inadvertently discovers that her husband has been keeping a secret from her for years… a secret that leads her to realize that her life is built on a foundation of lies and murder.

The Husband’s Secret has the following synopsis:

Imagine that your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret– something with the potential to destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others as well. Imagine then, that you stumble across the letter while your husband is still very much alive…

Cecilia Fitzpatrick has achieved it all– she’s an incredible successful businesswoman, a pillar of her small community, and a devoted wife and mother. Her life is an orderly and spotless as her home. But that letter is about to change everything, and not just for her. Rachel and Tess barely know Cecilia– or each other– but they too are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband’s secret.

Terry Press, President of CBS Films said:

“Liane Moriarty has established herself as one of the defining voices of the modern woman and Blake Lively’s unique combination of vulnerability, strength and extraordinary talent makes her the perfect actress to realize Moriarty’s creation.”

Moriarty is also the writer behind HBO’s hit Big Little Lies.
