The First Exclusive Look at Daisy Ridley in Shakespeare Reimagining ‘OPHELIA’

Check out your first exclusive look  that THR has released for Shakespeare’s reimagining of Hamlet’s forbidden lover OPHELIA, starring Daisy Ridley!

Set in the 14th century but spoken in a contemporary voice, Ophelia is a dynamic re-imagening of the Shakespeare tragedy that tells the untold story of her tragic romance with the prince.

Ridley is joined alongside Naomi Watts, Clive Owen plays Claudius, George MacKay as Prince Hamlet, Tom Felton as Laertes and Devon Terrell as Horatio. Ophelia follows the title character as the Queen’s (Watts) most trusted lady-in-waiting. Beautiful and intelligent, she soon captures the attention of the handsome Prince Hamlet (MacKay) and a forbidden love blossoms.

Directed by Claire McCarthy, this adaption is based on Lisa Klein’s book. Semi Chellas wrote the script. Daniel Bobker, Sarah Curtis, Paul Hanson and Ehren Kruger produce.

Covert Media is handling international sales at the Cannes Film Festival.
