Daniel Radcliffe to Lead Prison Thriller ‘ESCAPE FROM PRETORIA’

May 20, 2017

Daniel Radcliffe is set to lead the upcoming prison breakout thriller, ESCAPE FROM PRETORIA.

Currently being introduced to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival by The Works International, the film is based on Tim Jenkin’s autobiography. Radcliffe will play the anti-apartheid activist who famously broke out of the Pretoria Maximum Security Prison alongside Stephen Lee in 1978.

David Barron and Footprint Films’ Mark Blaney and Jackie Sheppard will be producing alongside The Works Film Group. The Works’ Martin McCabe, Deepak Sikka and Mick Southworth executive produce.

Escape from Pretoria is written and directed by rising talent Francis Annan and will start production in early 2018 on location in South Africa.

This marks the second project that Radcliffe has joined at the Cannes Film Festival. He will also lead the action-comedy Guns Akimbo.
