Robert Zemeckis and Matthew Vaughn Eyeing to Direct ‘THE FLASH’ Film
Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment seem to be getting closer to pick their director for their highly anticipated adaption of THE FLASH!
Matthew Vaughn and Robert Zemeckis are currently being eyed to direct the upcoming solo feature film.
While these two candidates seem to being eyed, scheduled have to be worked out. Zemeckis has an untitled Universal film starring Steve Carell, which is being planned to start production in August. That itself might cause the studio to give the project to Vaughn, given that they want to get the feature film to start production this year.
However, Vaughn has his own schedule conflicts too, including a third Kingsman movie that he would like to do following Kingsman: The Golden Circle which will be released this fall. While Vaughn has interest in directing after meeting with executives, he may be using this project as leverage to get the green light from FOX on another Kingsman sequel.
The Flash has been on hold since losing two directors: Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa. Ezra Miller will be playing the title character, but he’s getting ready to shoot Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2.
Joby Harold was brought in to do a page-one rewrite and has since turned in a draft.
Kiersey Clemons will play Iris West, with Billy Crudup playing Barry Allen’s father.
