CBS Picks Up Two Comedies & Four Dramas

CBS has announced that they have picked up comedies 9JKL starring Mark Feuerstein, and Dan Koppelman’s ME,MYSELF & I– both from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment; and dramas INSTINCT, starring Alan Cumming; SEAL TEAM starring David Boreanaz; S.W.A.T. starring Shemar Moore from Shawn Ryan and Justin Lin; and WISDOM OF THE CROWD, starring Jeremy Piven.

The semi-autobiographical  Feuerstein-Dana Klein comedy 9JKL marks the first series under Kaplan’s joint venture with CBS that launched in February.

This multi-camera family comedy is inspired by a time in Mark Feuerstein’s adult life when he lived in apartment 9K in the building he grew up in, sandwiched between his doting parents’ apartment, 9J, and his brother, sister-in-law and their baby’s apartment, 9L, and his attempts to set boundaries with his intrusive but well-meaning family.

Starring Mark Feuerstein, Linda Lavin, Elliot Gould, David Walton, Liza Lapira and Matt Murray.

Dana Klein and Feuerstein executive produce and write. Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Dana Honor executive produce. Pamela Fryman executive produces and directs the pilot.


This single camera comedy examines one mans life over a 50-year span. The show will focus on three distinct periods in his life– as a 14-year-old in 1991, a 40-year-old in present day, and a 65-year-old in 2042.

Starring Bobby Moynihan, Jack Dylan Grazer, Brian Unger, Jaleel Whitel, Kelen Coleman, Skylar Gray, Christopher Paul Richards, Mandell Maughan, Reylynn Caster, with Sharon Lawrence and John Larroquette.

Dan Kopelman executive produces and writes. Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor executive produce. Randall Einhorn executive produces and directs the pilot.

CBS also announced that they had picked up the new comedy spinoff series YOUNG SHELTON.

This single camera comedy revolves around 9-year-old genius who can figure out almost anything but his football-loving, church-going, small-town Texan family. 

From Chuck Lorre Productions Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television, Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro executive produce and write. Jim Parsons executive produces alongside Todd Spiewak. Jon Favreau executive produces and directs the pilot.

Starring Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Raegan A. Revord, Montana Jordan. Parsons narrates as Adult Sheldon.



From CBS Television Studios, the series is about a former CIA operative who has since built a “normal life” as a gifted professor and writer that is lured back into his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer. Based on the soon-to-be-published James Patterson book.

Starring Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic, Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews and Khandi Alexander.

Michael Raunch executive produces and writes. Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin of Secret Hideout, Patterson, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout and Cumming executive produce. Marc Webb executive produces and directs the pilot.


From CBS Television Studios, this series follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high stakes missions our country can ask of them.

Starring David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., A.J Buckley, Toni Trucks and Jessica Paré.

Ben Cavell executive produces and writes. Ed Redlich, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly executive produce. Chris Chulack executive produces and directs the pilot.

Inspired by the film of the same name.

Based on the Israeli format of the same name.
