FX Sets Premiere Date For ‘SNOWFALL’

FX has announced that their new drama series SNOWFALL about the start of the crack epidemic in Los Angeles, is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 5 at 10PM ET/PT. Created by John Singleton & Eric Amadio and Dave Andron (Justified), SNOWBALL is executive produced by the trio alongside Thomas Schlamme, Michael London, and Trevor Engelson.

Set in Los Angeles in 1983, SNOWFALL begins with a storm coming and its name is crack. This one hour drama is set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it, SNOWBALL follows numerous characters on a violent collision course, including: Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), a young street entrepreneur on a quest for power; Gustavo “El Oso” Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta), a Mexican wrestler caught up in a power struggle within a crime family; Teddy MacDonald (Carter Hudson), a CIA operative running from a dark past who begins an off-book operation to fund the Nicaraguan Contras and Lucia Villanueva (Emily Rios) a self-possessed daughter of a Mexican crime lord.

The pilot was written by Singleton, Amadio and Andron and directed by the Belgian directing team of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
