Doug Liman recently spoke with Collider and opened up about the upcoming Edge of Tomorrow sequel and even reveal its title!

“IT will be called LIVE DIE REPEAT AND REPEAT. Tom [Cruise] is excited about it, and Emily Blunt is excited about it. The big question is just when we’ll do it. But it’s not an if, it’s a when.”

He also talked about the script for the film.

“I had these intellectual ideas on how you should make a sequel that are unlike how anybody else makes a sequel, and this script and this idea fit perfectly into that idea. So it’s gonna revolutionize how people make sequels.”

Liman was previously attached to 20th Century FOX’s long in-development Gambit solo film, starring Channing Tatum. While the film is currently in pre-production, Liman eventually departed the project. He spoke to We Got This Covered and revealed the reason why he left.

“I look for a personal connection to the movies I make and it may not be immediately obvious. You know, like what’s my connection to Jason Bourne? I have a deeply personal connection to that movie because it’s all about Iran-Contra and my father ran the investigations into Iran-Contra. In every story I have a personal connection… With GAMBIT, I just never found that personal way in. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t.”

Liman’s new film The Wall, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and John Lena, will be having a limited release this Friday, May 12.
