Luther and The Affair star Ruth Wilson has joined director Lenny Abrahamson’s next projecg, THE LITTLE STRANGER.

Based on Sarah Waters novel of the same name, Abrahamson will reunite with his Frank star Domhnall Glesson, from a script by Lucinda Coxon based on Waters’ gothic tale.

Gleeson will play a doctor in post-World War II Britain who goes back to the crumbling great house of Hundreds Halls, where his mother once worked as a maid. Now, as the owners of the place struggle to pay the taxes, they’re also being haunted by a terrifying poltergeist with ties to the family.

The doctor becomes obsessed with marrying the older daughter (Wilson) and bad things, as you might be able to figure out given the supernatural and cultural issues, start to happen.

Production is being eyed for this year.

Wilson has a few movies set to be released: How To Talk To Girls At Parties and Dark River, and just recently she will play her own grandmother, Alice Wilson, in an upcoming BBC drama called The Wilsons.
