Netflix will release the second season of STRANGER THINGS this year on Halloween, and according to Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, it will be “a. lot more horror oriented.” The kids cast, including Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) and Noah Schnapp (Will) were interviewed by People Magazineand spoke about the show’s upcoming season. They were also photographed for the cover of Emmy Magazine.

Wolfhard said of Season 2:

“I think this season will be a lot more dark. A lot more horror oriented. I think people are going to like it more than the first season. There are going to be some challenges that the characters face that are real. That are disgusting.”

Matarazzo added:

“The great thing about this season is you get to see insights into each character on their own. You’re going to see a lot more into the lives of how the characters are coping with what’s been going on… I think they’re all very emotionally scarred. They feel alone, because their best friend [Will] is back and he’s not acting like their best friend anymore. He’s changed.”

Season 2 will premiere on Halloween 2017 and is set a year after Will’s return, and everything seems back to normal… but a darkness lurks just beneath the surface, threatening all of Hawkins.

Starring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schanpp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine. They’re joined this season by Sadie Sink, Dacre Montgomery, Brett Gelman, newcomer Linnea Berthelsen, Sean Astin and Paul Reiser.
