‘DAREDEVIL’ Season 3 Will Shoot Later This Year
Back in July 2016, Netflix and Marvel Entertainment announced that DAREDEVIL Season 3 was coming. No other details were offered as the title character would film first the event mini-series The Defenders. Now star Charlie Cox recently spoke on the podcast Film and Telly Stuff and revealed that shooting will indeed begin later this year.
“I do that later in the year. We’ll go back and do that.”
Filming has already wrapped on The Defenders Season 1 last month, and it’s unknown how the events of that show will effect Matt Murdock and company going forward. Shooting later in 2017 means that the third season will drop in an early 2018. One thing we know is that Cox has said multiple time that he wants Bullseye (previously played in the film by Colin Farrell) to come in as the bad guy.
“It’s no secret, I’ve said it before and I get in trouble every time I say it, I’d like to see Bullseye make an appearance at some point. I think it’s a really interesting opportunity. Deborah Ann Woll obviously does not want Bullseye to show up for obvious reasons. Elodie Yung, who plays Elektra, doesn’t want Bullseye to show up either.”
Season 2 featured Matt reuniting with an old flame– Elektra Natchios and facing a new adversary Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal). Castle, a man looking for vengeance is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.
Starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Scott Glenn as Stick and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. Season 2 also saw Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher and Elodie Yung as the deadly assassin Elektra Natchios.
Doug Petrie, Marco Ramirez, and Drew Goddard, alongside Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb executive produce.
