Edward James Olmos Joins ‘THE PREDATOR’
Edward James Olmos has joined the cast of THE PREDATOR, the new film in the franchise from director Shane Black. Olmos will play a military figure.
Currently filming in Vancouver, the film also stars Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, and Sterling K. Brown.
Details on the film is kept under wraps, but rumors are that the film takes place in suburbia with the Predator slowly revealing himself to be a threat to the film’s heroes.
Black co-wrote the script with Fred Dekker. Dekker confirmed that the film remains in the continuity of the first two movies and isn’t a full reboot of the series. He did said that there is a reference in the script as to why the film has a singular title, and that the film will have an R rating.
The Predator hits theaters on February 9, 2018.
Olmos will reprise his role as Gaff, Rick Deckard’s Cityspeak-talking rival in the sequel, Blade Runner 2049. He will also star in FX’s spinoff series pilot Mayans MC. Mayans were recurring players in Sons of Anarchy which lasted for seven seasons.
