Colin Farrell in Negotiations For Disney’s ‘DUMBO’
Colin Farrell is currently in negotiations to join Tim Burton’s DUMBO, Disney’s live-action of the 1941 animated classic. Farrell could play Holt, the widowed father of two kids from Kentucky. He would join the previously announced Eva Green and Danny DeVito.
Farrell would be re-teaming with Disney after starring in Saving Mr. Banks back in 2013. Green will play Colette, a French trapeze artist who works for evil top circus villain Vandemere (still yet to be cast) while DeVito plays Medici, the man who runs a smaller circus that gets acquired by Vandemere.
Written by Ehren Kruger, who produces with Justin Springer. Disney’s original version focused on a big-eared, lovable circus elephant, who is mocked for his large ears but learns to use them as wings to fly.
Farrell just recently joined Amazon’s limited series to play Oliver North, a decorated U.S Marine and Fox News commentator. He wrapped production on Yorgos Lanthimos The Killing of a Sacred Deer, a suspected film to be part of this year’s Cannes.
