MTV’s ‘SCREAM’ Season 3 May Be a Reboot
MTV is making plans for the third season of SCREAM to be a reboot. This is actually a bit ironic since the show is indeed a reboot of the Scream film franchise, with four films from 1996 to 2011. Dimension TV, which produces the show, is looking to reboot the story and hire an all-new cast. They would also look for a new show runner to bring fresh eyes to the series. If it does happen, it’s unclear whether or not there would be any references of the first two seasons, stories and characters.
The first season had 10 episodes and the second one, 13. Season 3 was recently picked up for six additional episodes. During the second season, the show had a major drop in ratings. The first two seasons had different show runners too, with Jill Blotevogal and Jaime Paglia on season 1 and Michael Gans and Richard Register on season 2.
The first two seasons starred Willa Fitzgerald as Emma Duvall, John Karna as Noah, Tom Madden as Jake, Tracy Middendorf as Maggie, Amadeus Serafini as Kieran, Bex Taylor-Klaus as Audrey, Carlson Young as Brooke, Kiana Lede, Santiago Segura, Anthony Ruivivar, Austin Highsmith, Sean Grandillo, and Karina Rogue.
