While 20th Century FOX is gearing up with Ridley Scott’s next prequel/sequel Alien: Covenant, Scott recently revealed to Fandango that as long audiences watch his new film, he will continue making plans for his franchise.

“There will be another one before we kind of literally and logically, clockwise, back into the rear back head of [the original] ALIEN… If this is successful, and then the next one, and then there will be definitely be three more.”

That’s not all. Scott also dropped the mystery title Alien: Awakening as a story that’s set between Prometheus and Covenant. Does this mean that a Covenant prequel will be the next film?

Alien: Covenant offers a new chapter in his groundbreaking Alien franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

Set as the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus, Alien: Covenant connects directly to Ridley Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. It begins with the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. There, the crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world– whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demian Bachir, Jussie Smolett, Amy Seitmetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, and Billy Crudup. Noomi Rapace is expected to reprise her role as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, and James Franco as the Captain of the title ship.

Scott directs once again from a screenplay by Jack Pagan and Michael Green.

Alien: Covenant hits theaters on May 19.
