‘THE NIGHT MANAGER’ Season 2 in the Works
As soon as the last episode of AMC and BBC’s THE NIGHT MANAGER aired and with the award nominations and wins, many fans started to ask if a second season would happen. Recently, director Susanne Bier, who won an Emmy, confirmed that a new season is in the works at both networks.
The series follows Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) who is hired by British intelligence to infiltrate an arms dealer’s inner circle. The folder soldier turned hotel night manager must bring Richard Onslow Roper (Hugh Laurie) and his criminal empire down. While the genre might be familiar, plenty of TV shows and movies based on the work of John Le Carré have been made, but this is something different.
“We all very much want to do a season two but the thing we absolutely do not want is to do something that does not live up to the level of season one. That would be a really bad idea.”
It’s unclear whether or not screenwriter David Farr will return as his agenda is quite busy. Bier also received a new project upon her success with the series, currently working on a 10-part TV series based on the memoir and Oscar-winning film Out of Africa.
