AMC Sets Premiere Date For ‘PREACHER’ Season 2
AMC has announced that PREACHER Season 2 premieres on Monday, June 19 at 9PM ET/PT. The new season will consist of 13 episodes, is a genre-bending thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
A panel for the show and its upcoming season is scheduled to take place TOMORROW at this year’s SXSW Festival, with executive producer Seth Rogen, executive producer and show runner Sam Catlin, and co-executive producer and series creator Garth Ennis.
In addition, Noah Taylor, Pip Torrens, Julie Ann Emery, Malcolm Barrett, Ronald Guttman, and Justin Prentice have joined the show, though it’s unclear who they’ll play.
Based on the popular cult comic book franchise of the same name, PREACHER is a supernatural and darkly comedic drama that follows a Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity called Genesis that gives him the power to make people do whatever he commands. Once this power attracts the attention of two mysterious angel, Fiore and DeBlanc, Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
Developed for television by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and show runner Sam Catlin. The series stars Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun, Ruth Negga, and Graham McTavish.
