Jason Isaacs Joins CBS’s ‘STAR TREK: DISCOVERY’
Jason Isaacs has joined CBS’s STAR TREK: DISCOVERY!
Isaacs will play Captain Lorca, the captain of the Starship Discovery. Fans know Isaacs for playing Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, though he’s lent his voice to a number of fan-favorite like Star Wars Rebels, the DC animated films, and The Legend of Korra.
Mary Wiseman also joined the cast as Cadet Tilly, a Starfleet Academy Cadet in her final year of study, also assigned to the Discovery.
Isaacs and Wiseman join the previously announced Sonequa Martin-Green as Lieutenant Commander Rainsford, Doug Jones as science officer Saru, Anthony Rapp as fellow science officer Stamets, Terry Serpico as Starfleet admiral Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as chief medical officer Nambue, Sam Vartholomeos as junior Starfleet officer Connor, and James Frain as Sarek, astrophysicist and father of Spock.
Additional cast members include Michelle Yeoh, Shazad Latif as Kol, a Klingon commanding officer, Chris Obi as Klingon leader T’Kuvma, and Mary Chieffo as L’Rell, a Klingon commander.
STAR TREK: DISCOVERY will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers. The series will premiere on the CBS Television Network with all subsequent episodes available on CBS All Access, the Network’s digital subscription video on demand and live-streaming service, and will be distributed concurrently by CBS Studios International on Netflix in 188 countries and in Canada on Bell Media’s Space channel and OTT service CraveTV.
The series is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout, Bryan Fuller’s Living Dead Guy Productions and Roddenberry Entertainment. Kurtzman, Fuller, Heather Kadin, Gretchen J. Berg & Aaron Harberts, Akiva Goldsman, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers.
