Jessica Lange & Adam Levine’s ‘American Horror Story’ Season 2 Characters Teased

June 25, 2012

Jessica Lange and Adam Levine‘s characters in the upcoming season of FX’s TV series American Horror Story have been detailed.

The information on the plot for the second season has been trickling in since April, along with the news of the returning cast members.

For those of you who didn’t know, Lange received a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Contance Langdon on the series and is set to return to plan an all-new character.

As previously said, the second season’s story will be set in an insane asylum in the 1960s with former stars Zachary Quinto and Evan Peters also coming back to play different roles.

Meanwhile, Adam Levine and Chloe Sevingy are among the new stars to have signed on to play patients in the asylum.

Details on Lange’s character have been said, though it had been revealed that she will play a nurse at the asylum who comes from a completely different background to her other character.

But American Horror Story writer Tim Minear has told MTV of Lange’s new role, saying:

“She’s playing a nun. She’s playing an administrator of a facility. It’s different. In this instance, she’s a bride of Christ.”

He also added a titbit on Levine, who has been cast to play one half of a couple known as “The Lovers”.

“Let’s say that Adam’s character is kind of a nod to contemporary sensibilities, as opposed to something from the mid-century. “

The second season returns to FX later this year.
