Producer Michael G. Wilson Talks About The Many Faces of the James Bond Actors
James Bond producer Michael G. Wilson got to talk to USA Today about the various men actors who have played the famous 007 agent over the past 5 decades. Who are they? Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, George Lazenby, Pierce Brosnan and now Daniel Craig.
The producer and long-time writer claims that the actual actor Daniel Craig has brought some of the elements back to the role that made Sean Connery a big hit in the 1960s and in the 1970s.
Sean Connery who first appeared in 1962, Dr. No, From Russia With Love (1963), GoldFinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967), Diamonds Are Forever (1971) and Never Say Never Again (1983). Wilson said:
“Sean was a tough guy; he set the tone.”
Roger Moore was in Live and Let Die (1973), The Man With The Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and A View To Kill (1985). Wilson said:
“Moore played it more comic. Roger was more lighthearted.”
While Timothy Dalton starred in only two films, The Living Daylights (1987) and Licence to Kill (1989). Wilson said:
“Dalton brought it down to earth.”
Second Irish Actor Pierce Brosnan starred in GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002). Wilson said:
“Brosnan brought a touch of charm and touchiness.”
And till now, Daniel Craig, who’s starred in Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), and in the upcoming film, Skyfall (2012). Wilson said:
“Craig is a great actor who takes it back to the Sean days. We’ve gone full circle.”
